• Heating wire, metallic heating element, small electromotor, or other electrical product design/development.
• New material, new technology study and introduction.
• Specification refresh and building.
• Support the daily material problem resolution and maintenance.
• Participate in Gentherm local or global teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Material Engineer is responsible for material definition and development, in line with company strategy, specifications, quality and process requirement. He/she applies the company development process to guide the design detail of the material.
The main missions of the role are to:
• Introduce suitable materials across the field with sensitive cognition and innovative spirit.
• Requirement analysis: Analyze the material requirements; Identify the key properties of material; Study out the suitable solution with supplier.
• During development: Lead cross functional to Kick-off the development activity, prepare the detailed DVP with cross function team, validate feasibility of material, tracking the process test, summarize the DVP&R, lead the final review with team, and finally release the material to PDM system.
• Technical management: Prepare and update the material related technical documentation; Ensure that the technical convergence plan meets product quality and costs targets; Ensure that the milestone deadlines are met; Lead DFMEA analysis and building.
• Follow up the new material trial run with cross function team and ensure the new material reaches mass production in actual project smoothly.
• Daily material maintenance and database management.
• Support general material-related problem solving.
• He or she is the technical interface with supplier and obtain internal cross function team agreement on design.
• CAD 2D/3D is needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Electronic or Engineering.
• Experience in Design & Development within an electrical environment, ideally in the automotive industry
• Knowledge and experience in Project Management process
• Team player with strong communication skills
• International mindset.
• Fluent in English communication
