Job Summary:
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of the hardware systems used in our indoor delivery robots. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to ensure our robots are reliable, efficient, and capable of meeting user needs in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design & Development:
o Design, prototype, and test hardware components for indoor delivery robots, including sensors, actuators, circuit boards, and power systems.
o Develop detailed hardware specifications based on product requirements and performance targets.
o Work with the mechanical engineering team to integrate hardware components into the robot's overall design.
· Optimization & Testing:
o Conduct performance analysis and optimization of hardware systems to enhance the robot's efficiency, battery life, and operational capabilities.
o Perform rigorous testing of hardware components under various conditions to ensure durability and reliability.
o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues, working closely with the software team to address any integration challenges.
· Documentation & Compliance:
o Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware designs, testing protocols, and performance data.
o Ensure all hardware components meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
· Collaboration & Innovation:
o Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source and evaluate components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
o Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics hardware and recommend improvements or new technologies that could benefit our products.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
· Experience:
o 3-5+ years of experience in hardware design and development, preferably in robotics or a similar industry.
o Hands-on experience with PCB design, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, and power management systems.
o Experience with CAD software for designing and simulating hardware components.
o Familiarity with testing and validation processes for hardware in robotics applications.
· Skills:
o Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
o Excellent knowledge of circuit design, embedded systems, and hardware integration.
o Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
