Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Review customer specifications to create drawings and bill of materials for assigned projects within budget, including the selection of parts.
• Design single line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams for power distribution for lighting, display and touch screens and sensors, including network diagrams for communication and automation where applicable.
• Design and perform load calculations for power distribution systems.
• Work with Purchasing and Vendors to receive quotes and lead times to complete design.
• Provide engineering support to design engineering and R&D.
• Work with Engineering Manager and assist with other project tasks.
• Mechanical design is an asset.
• Coding in common applications with languages such as but not limited to visual basic, python, C++, java
• Follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality system.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Reporting any Health and Safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Performing any other reasonable assignments given by Department Management or his/her designates.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least 3-5 years of related work experience in electrical lighting power systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Cantonese/Mandarin. English is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment.
• Excellent understanding of Electrical Safety Procedures like CCC, CE, CSA and UL. Understanding of NEC and IEEE standard is a plus.
• Experience and knowledge with computers and MS office programs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or related software.
• Able to program macros and applications in common software platforms.
• Solid Works is an asset.
• Knowledge of store furniture, fixtures and displays is an asset.
